Growing NASDAQ Clinical Diagnostics company relocating within the Science Vale UK Enterprise Zone

The Science Vale UK region has proven to be a good growth location for the Oxford University spin out company Oxford Immunotec.  Now a NASDAQ listed company, it has outgrown two of its current manufacturing and development sites on Milton Park in just over a decade.

The move to one of the Science Vale UK Enterprise Zones within Milton Park, combines two of three existing Oxford Immunotec facilities into a brand new, purpose built 27,000 sq. ft global headquarters.  It will house manufacturing rooms, R&D laboratories, the company’s ODL clinical laboratory as well as sales, marketing and other headquarter functions.

Oxford Immunotec is part of the large Bio, Medical and Life Science cluster found in Science Vale UK.  A high growth diagnostics company, it focuses on developing and commercialising tests for immune-regulated medical conditions such as TB.  The Company’s first product was T-SPOT®.TB test, used to test for tuberculosis infection.  The T-SPOT.TB test has been approved for sale in over 50 countries, including the United States, Europe, Japan and China.

The Science Vale UK Enterprise Zones are part of a government funded business growth scheme, led by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils.  Qualifying businesses can save up to £55,000 a year for 5 years on business rates moving to an enterprise zone.  Companies relocating to the Milton Park Enterprise Zones can also benefit from simplified planning controls – Local Development Orders – speeding up the construction of new accommodation.

Science Vale UK is a region in Southern Oxfordshire, hosting the Science Vale Oxford and the Didcot Growth Accelerator Enterprise Zone.  It is home to the UK Space Gateway, the European fusion research programme (JET), leading artificial intelligence and robotics research and a cutting edge Bio, Medical and Life Science sector.  Within our business parks and Enterprise Zones, we’re creating environments in which science and technology businesses of all sizes can flourish.  For more information on the regions relocation opportunities visit or call the Enterprise Zone team on 01235 422343.
